Dr. Bolgar has been practicing psychotherapy since 1998. She is also a professor at Adler University teaching Family Therapy, Couples Counselling and Ethics to Masters students. Dr. Bolgar has worked in clinical settings such as child and youth mental health, child and family counselling centers as a clinical supervisor for over 15 years. In addition to her private practice and teaching Dr. Bolgar provides clinical supervision to counsellors in community-based counselling programs supporting families, children and youth with various behavioral, and emotional difficulties. She is enthusiastic about sharing her love of her clinical work and knowledge with her students and counsellors.

Dr. Bolgar is also a trained Family Mediator and helps families and couples with separation/divorce, parenting and other challenging situations.

Dr. Bolgar offers expertise in relationship counselling, child therapy, parent-teen conflict, post-divorce adjustment (i.e. parenting after separation), treatment of anxiety, depression, stress, narcissistic and borderline personality disorders.

Dr. Bolgar’s counselling services offers evidence based approach such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman’s Couple Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

She is also competent in the use of specific therapeutic techniques like: Hypnosis,

Mindfulness Meditation, Neurofeedback, EMDR

Among her professional involvement Dr. Bolgar finds time to research chronic stress and individual’s reactions to experiences. She authored a workbook “Stress-less more balanced”. She was invited to present her research titled “Stress is based on Perception” to the 4th World Congress of Positive Psychology in Florida in 2015.
